For the Love of Pets (FLP) began in 2017 with the mission to strengthen communities by bringing people together through a shared love of pets. It completes this mission by creating free, family-friendly (both two- and four-legged) events that give back to local animal welfare organizations.

Our flagship event was For the Love of Pets Benefit Festival, which was a dog-friendly community festival located in Central Oregon that benefits local animal shelters.

The missions of each festival beneficiary vary, but each aim to be high-save or no-kill. The organizations complete this goal by fighting for every abused and/or abandoned animal and fostering communities where no companion animal will be killed because it is homeless. Continuing, each organization thoroughly believes in permanent and loving relationships between people and their pets and exude this by implementing programs focused around education, adoption and spay/neutering.

The benefit festival was created to support these organizations, but also to be utilized as a tool to better our overall community. As Central Oregon continues to grow, its residents continue to drift and this festival hoped to combat this through the love of pets and by instilling the idea that a neighbor doesn't have to simply be someone who lives next door.

The festival was a smashing success for three years raising $8,300 for local animal shelters/rescues, collecting 220 pounds of donated product and helping find homes for 42 homeless dogs (not counting kitties, ferrets and other critters)! Due to COVID-19 and time restraints by our one-woman planner, the benefit festival is no longer ongoing. However, with brighter days ahead, we will continue with smaller benefit events, such as the Pup Crawl.

All "breeds" are welcome at FLP events.
